The drought of the 2005 vintage presented many challenges but the blessed combination of the Montrose soil with its hot days and cool nights resulted in perfect ripening conditions and great concentration in the fruit. Whilst there is real tannic power, the sweet cassis and plum fruit, and the incredibly long finish, present an earthy but elegant classic.
