Wild Earth, Central Otago, Riesling, 2018

We love riesling and we think you should too... in our mind it's the most versatile of grapes meaning you can find everything from bone dry citrus-led refreshers to lusciously sweet desert wines. This is bone dry and offers lime peel, honeysuckle and flint with just enough of that signature riesling petrol note to make it super interesting. great with snacks, asian food (especially zesty dishes featuring lime).

Nicosia Etna Bianco Contrada San Nicolò [Organic] 2020

Etna is more famous for its reds, which is excellent news for drinkers of its whites because they offer some excellent value. Pronounced and complex on the nose with savoury, nutty aromas and hints of fennel, ginger and white spice. The palate is fine, concentrated and textural, with crisp citrus and lightly honeyed stone fruit balanced by minerality and sappy acidity. Another versatile wine it makes an ideal aperitif or accompaniment to seafood, sushi and fried fish.

Domaine de la Presidente, Simin Alexandre, Cotes du Rhone Blanc, 2018

A blend of white grenache, viognier and roussanne this is one of those whites that has the body and the complexity to woo red wine lovers. Floral notes meet subtle citrus and stone fruits making for a wine that stands up to more robust food pairings like pork, veal and chicken as well as full flavoured fish dishes.

Genetie, Bourgogne Pinot Noir, 'Illuminé', 2019

Good value red Burgundy is hard to come but it's a wine you need on hand for when a lighter red is called for and this delivers on value and taste in equal measures. Sourced from the classic heartland of Burgundy where Pinot Noir is king, this delivers a refreshing soft berry fruit nose which flows into the palate to offer flavours of wild strawberry. Excellent alone or with chicken dishes... delectable with a slice of Brie

Pazo de Monterrey Mencía 2019

From DO Monterrei, a small zone on the Galician border with Portugal - the area is best known for Godello-based whites, but is also capable of producing elegant and subtle reds from Mencia. Produced from 15-20 year old vines growing at around 700m altitude. Aged for 3-6 months in 2-3 yr old French oak barrels. Delicately fragrant with layers of wild flowers and ripe red berries, backed by hints of spice from its brief time in French oak. A typically subtle and elegant Mencia. Great with savoury pastries, lamb and charcuterie

Dandelion Vineyards, `Lion's Tooth of McLaren Vale` Shiraz/Riesling, 2019

Forget what you know about big, jammy, one-dimensional Aussie shiraz. This is a big hitter, full bodied, inky and decadant but it's got finesse. It delivers those signature cooked red plum flavours but has a lovely acidity which lifts the wine and belies its high alcohol. Here shiraz is co-fermented with 5% riesling which provides the freshness and subtle aromatics... sounds strange but really delivers. Those red plums follow blueberries and wild cherries before making way for oak and a subtle touch of lime marmalade. Great with roasted meats, cold nights and strong cheese.
