Fitzrovia: White Burgundy Exploration Tasting - 10th Apr
White Burgundy Tasting
7pm Wednesday 10th Apr 2024 at Must & Lees, 57 Warren St.
To the uninitiated the unassuming strip of land South of Dijon could be mistaken for any other part of France, gentle rolling hills, vineyards, Citroën 2CVs pottering around but to many around the world it is hallowed ground indeed.
Burgundy, the home or chardonnay, boasts some of the world's most expensive viticultural land and with prices rising as quickly as demand it produces some of the most sought after wine in the world. It is at once very simple with just a few permitted grapes and an intuitive quality classification system yet immensely complicated with it's patchwork terroir.
In this tasting we'll focus on chardonnay with five wines from five different appellations across Burgundy. We'll explore what makes Burgundy so special with a dive into its history, production and attempt to discern the different styles of pinot noir which can be found across the region.
This is the first in a two part event (we'll be focusing on Pinot inn the next). You're welcome to attend one or both events. Cheese and charcuterie and other snacks are also included in the price.
This tasting is open to all wine lovers and no prior tasting experience is required.
