Château Cissac, Haut-Médoc, Bordeaux 2005

Cissac is officially listed as a ‘Cru Bourgeois’ but has been punching way above this unhelpful classification for decades. A blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot, the wine is aged 15 months in oak (30% of which is new). 

2005 was a stellar vintage in Bordeaux and the whilst the wine could age further, the medium bodied style of Cissac means this is perfect for drinking now, revealing classic cedar and tobacco notes to compliment the robust fruit.
