Henners Vineyard, Pinot Noir, England 2022

Although this wine is vinified at Henners in East Sussex, the grapes were sourced from the excellent Bromley Brook Vineyard, Colchester. 

Winemaker Collette O’Leary has produced a perfect example of English Pinot Noir. The wine is unoaked with 20% fermented separately using the saignée method and then reintroduced. This method, sometimes used in the production of rosé, involves ‘bleeding’ off light coloured fruity juice, allowing what remains to have increased interaction with the skins, helping to increase its concentration. The skilful reintroduction of the fermented ‘rosé’ juice, ensures a perfectly balanced wine - light, with ripe red fruits, fresh acidity and just enough tannins to make it super food friendly.
