Hosted at our Liverpool Road shop and tasting room in Islington from 6.30pm.

This is the course for those looking to build their confidence in wines, broaden their vinous horizons and turn drinking into tasting.

The Wine & Spirit Education Trust Level 2 Award in Wines is an internationally recognised wine qualification. This qualification is ideal for both wine enthusiasts or trade.

No prior knowledge is required but those completely new to wine tasting are reccomended to first complete WSET Level 1 in Wines. Speak to us if you are unsure what level to start your WSET journey.

Together we'll cover how to taste wine (using a globally recognised approach), how environmental factors, grape-growing, winemaking and maturation options influence the style and quality of wines made from eight principal grape varieties, storage and service of wine and wine pairing.

Perhaps most importantly the course includes a tutored tasting of forty exceptional wines selected as exemplary examples of their styles. Whilst these wines will change depending on availability we will always include some of the world's leading wines - we believe the quality of the wines you'll taste to be a key point of difference to other schools making the course a real joy.

This Level 2 Awards in wine course is run over 6 three-hour-long sessions starting at 6:30pm on the Tuesday evenings listed above.  If you are likely to miss a session we can arrange a catch up (do speak to us in advance to understand the limitations of catch ups). A 60 minute multiple choice exam finishes the course (exact timings to be arranged).

The course if fully Inclusive of:

  • Course materials (including WSET Textbook)
  • 40 wine samples
  • ~18 hours in-person tuition
  • ~14 hours home study
