WSET Level 3 Award in Wines

This is the course for those looking to gain a thorough understanding of wines, build confidence in wine tasting, and develop the skills to assess style, quality, and price professionally.

The Wine & Spirit Education Trust Level 3 Award in Wines is an internationally recognised qualification. It is ideal for wine enthusiasts or trade professionals who already have a basic foundation (WSET Level 2 Award in Wines or equivalent experience is recommended). If you are new to wine, we advise completing WSET Level 1 and 2 first — speak to us if you are unsure where to start your WSET journey.

You will learn how to taste wines using a globally recognised method, analyse how environmental factors, grape-growing, winemaking, maturation, and legal/commercial considerations influence the style, quality, and price of wines, and gain confidence in advising others. The course covers the principal still, sparkling, and fortified wines of the world.

The course includes tutored tastings of approximately 80 wines selected as exemplary examples of their styles. While wines may vary depending on availability, we prioritise world-class examples to make your tasting experience exceptional.
