Massimo Lentsch, 'San Teodoro' Etna Rosso, Sicily 2018

From the northern slopes of Sicily’s Mount Etna, where previous lava flows have produced different soil types and even microclimates, this is a light bodied example of the Nerello Mascalese grape. Although the wine spends 10 months in oak, this does not mask the bright redcurrant and cherry fruit or volcanic minerality. The wine will benefit from 30 minutes decanting before serving.
