Sogrape, Serie Impar, Sercialinho, 2019

Limited to just 2000 bottles (each one numbered) this `Série Ímpar` or ‘Experimental Series’ is one of a unique series of experimental wines from the influential Sogrape winemakers.

Here the experiment is based on a the rare native white Sercialinho variety. Lovely and fresh with acidity reminiscent of a riesling this is a crisp wine with lots of complexity, partially thanks to maturation in large oak barrels.

Drunk young it offers vivid citrus and peach aromas with a lovely mineral finish and lots of smoky notes. Acidity and complexity combine to offer excellent ageing potential, we imagine it will develop that petrol-like nose associated with riesling... but only time will tell!
